My kid starts college soon, should they have a VPN for dorm WiFi?
Absolutely yes! College WiFi is a security nightmare. A VPN service protects them from: dorm network admins monitoring activity, other students on same network sniffing traffic, university logging and potentially sharing browsing data. Got my daughter ExpressVPN when she started freshman year. She uses it for online banking, accessing home streaming accounts, keeping browsing private. Easy enough she figured it out in 5 minutes. One account covers 5 devices so whole family uses it. $6.67/month for peace of mind about her security.
