I’ve been putting off replacing the battery in my 2017 Mercedes E-Class for way too long, and I know I’m basically gambling every time I turn the key at this point. The car has been cranking slower and slower over the past few weeks, and yesterday I had that moment where it almost didn’t start, which gave me a proper scare. I’ve been checking around different garages and mobile services in Abu Dhabi to see what the going rates are, and I’ve noticed that prices seem to vary quite a bit depending on where you go and what brand they’re offering. Some places are quoting what I think is reasonable, while others seem to be taking advantage of the fact that most people don’t know much about batteries and just want the car to work again. I’m also aware that there are sometimes exclusive deals on car battery installation in Abu Dhabi that come up during certain times of the year, like during Ramadan or the summer, but I’m not sure if it’s worth waiting for one of those or just biting the bullet and getting it done now before I end up stranded somewhere. The thing is, I don’t want to compromise on quality just to save a few dirhams, because I’ve learned the hard way that cheap batteries don’t last in this heat and you end up paying more in the long run anyway. A friend of mine told me he got a really good deal recently from a mobile service that included free fitting and a solid warranty, which sounds like exactly what I need, but when I called them, they said the promotion had ended. So now I’m in that annoying position where I’m weighing up whether to wait and hope another deal comes along, or just pay the regular price and get it done with. I drive a lot for work, mostly between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, so having a reliable battery is pretty crucial for me – I can’t afford to have the car break down on the side of the highway in the middle of summer. Has anyone here managed to snag a good deal recently, or know of any places that consistently offer decent prices without compromising on service quality? I’m also curious whether the mobile services tend to be more expensive than going to a physical garage, because the convenience is appealing but I don’t want to be paying a huge premium for it. Any advice would be really helpful because I need to make a decision in the next day or two before my luck runs out completely.
